Learn your way around Nim
Open Nim, check the instructions and begin a round. Remove the last counter on the board to win. Look at what changes after your first action. Read the objective before making your first input. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.
A focus for your next round
Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Make the next step deliberately.
What the game asks you to do
Remove the last counter on the board to win. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Start with a deliberate move.
Making your moves
- Player 1 chooses a pile.
- Remove at least one counter, and up to all counters, from that pile.
- The next player chooses a pile and an amount.
- Continue until no counters remain.
How to interact with the game
Use the on-screen controls with a mouse or touch. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.
Try this example
If only one counter remains in one heap, taking it wins under the normal-play rule used here. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Consider the next action carefully.
Check this before moving on
Only one pile may be changed per turn. Compare the situation with the worked example. Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow.
