Getting started with Word Recall

Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Word Recall. Identify new and previously seen words before losing three lives. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Included vocabulary and random repeats; a game, not a medical memory assessment.

Something to practise

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Make the next step deliberately.

Your objective

Identify new and previously seen words before losing three lives. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Follow this game’s rules rather than another version’s.

Making your moves

  1. Read each displayed word.
  2. Choose New word or Seen before.
  3. Remember words from this round only.
  4. Three mistakes end the round.

Using the playing area

Click or tap one of the two answer buttons. Use the control method described here for this activity. Check any mode label before starting.

Work through an example

PLANT seen earlier in the same round requires Seen before. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Check the stated objective.

Keep this in mind

A word from an earlier round does not count as seen now. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
